Wema Educationals exists to address the pressing gaps that limit learning, opportunity and wellbeing for young people, families and vulnerable communities in Uganda. Our work is shaped by four key challenges and the strategic focus areas designed to respond to them.

3. Parental Engagement and Empowerment

The Problem
Many parents struggle to support their children’s learning due to limited school engagement, lack of information, or limited understanding of child development. This affects children’s performance, attendance and long-term educational outcomes.
Our Focus
Wema strengthens parental capacity and school–community relationships through:
Enhancement of core competencies in the home environment
Parenting workshops on supporting children’s education and home learning
Guidance on positive parenting, early stimulation and communication
Community dialogues that build trust and collaboration with schools
Empowered parents create stable, supportive environments that help children thrive.
